Gedeon Law assists clients by drafting, amending and maintaining their estate plans. For most clients, a complete estate plan will include a revocable living trust, a pour-over will, a durable power of attorney for assets, and an advance health care directive.
We assist clients in preparing a complete estate plan that will address not only the issues of wealth transfer and estate planning but also asset preservation, liquidity, risk management, funding education and retirement, and any charitable and philanthropic inclinations.
When drafting estate planning documents, we carefully review each client’s goals, concerns, family issues and assets to arrive at the plan that will best meet each client’s needs.
We also counsel our clients on funding their trusts, how to change title to assets, and the tax ramifications of their plan under the ever-changing tax law.
The following are some of the major services we offer:
- Wills and trusts: We will devise the optimal approach for passing on your assets in accordance with your wishes. We regularly handle cases involving assets such as family businesses and real estate property.
- Living wills and powers of attorney: Many of our clients are concerned about what will happen to them and who will make decisions on their behalf in the event that they become incapacitated. We help clients address these concerns by drafting durable powers of attorney, health care proxies and medical directives.
- Probate and trust administration: We assist clients with the administration of estates in probate as well as the administration of trusts.
Through careful estate planning, we are able to help our clients avoid many of the disputes that can arise when important issues are not clarified and settled in a timely fashion.
